In many ways, Natalie's gown brings together so many of my ideals... tones, lines, and the pattern of the lace... Natalie and I seemed to agree on so many things from the outset - it's no wonder it all fell into place perfectly.

Like the lace... From around four hundred samples I thought I would make a shortlist before Natalie arrived... and had my eye on one. And even though we went through all four hundred again together - uncannily, Natalie chose the same one. The strong diagonal patterns providing a foil for the flowing lines, and the french-knotted beading adding depth and sparkle - it's still a favourite of mine.

From there it became about the layers of bias-cut silk chiffon for the under-dress... and developing the perfect weight for the train.

Throughout, Natalie was so calm... so confident. And the result - sensational!
